Join us for a workshop with Dr. Mary Hawn, Chair of the Department of Surgery and a Professor at Stanford. Dr. Hawn focuses specifically on digestive health, including issues like gallbladder disease and esophageal reflux. Prior to joining Stanford, she was the Chair of the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery at the University of Alabama.
She also conducts research to determine how to track surgical quality and outcomes. Additionally, she has researched patients’ surgical risk modeling to predict what sort of complications they are at risk of developing.
Dr. Hawn serves on the Board of the American Board of Surgery. She is on the editorial boards of the Journal of the American College of Surgeons, the Annals of Surgery, the Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery and the American Journal of Surgery. She has co-authored 90+ articles in journals.
She received her Bachelor’s and MD from the University of Michigan.
