Join us for a conversation with Jo Boaler, Professor of Mathematics Education at Stanford and co-founder of YouCubed, a Stanford Graduate School of Education initiative to change the way schools teach math. Born and raised in England, she served as a Marie Curie Professor of Mathematics at the University of Sussex before moving to Stanford.
She currently advises several Silicon Valley companies including Udacity and Novo-ed on the power of Growth Mindset. Her work has been published in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, TIME Magazine, and The Atlantic. BBC named her as 1 of 8 "people whose ideas are challenging the future of education.”
She will talk about the role of confidence and growth mindset in her success, and lead an activity on problem-solving.
