Julia Collins is the Co-founder and President of Zume Pizza, a company that uses a team of humans and robots that work collaboratively to make the freshest pizzas. Zume Pizza has raised over $48 million in funding.
Different robots have different roles in the pizza making process: Pepe dispenses tomato sauce, Marta spreads it, and Bruno puts the pizzas in the oven! The robots use data analytics and artificial intelligence to cook the pizzas. The food delivery trucks feature a patented cooking en-route technology so that the “pizza arrives at the peak of flavor and freshness.” Vincero, its newest robot decides when to transfer the pizzas into these ovens.
After graduating from Harvard with a BA in Government from Harvard, Julia got an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Apart from Zume, she serves as a Board Member for the Exploratorium and an Ambassador to the Smithsonian Institution.
Julia will talk about her experiences in the restaurant industry, robotics, and the role of confidence in her success.
