Join us for a workshop with Julie-Ann Sosa, Chair of Surgery and Professor at UCSF. She is an endocrine surgeon who specializes in thyroid cancer and adrenal gland-related conditions. Her research focuses on developing treatments for advanced stages of thyroid cancer and outcomes-analysis for different surgical procedures.
Prior to joining UCSF, she was Chief of Endocrine Surgery at Duke University. She is also the editor-in-chief of the World Journal of Surgery and serves on the board of several medical journals. Dr. Sosa completed her medical school and residency at Johns Hopkins where she was also chief resident. She also studied human sciences at the University of Oxford.
Dr. Sosa will talk about her journey, lead an activity to introduce girls to her day-to-day work as a surgeon, and share the role of confidence in her success.
