In September, Object had its first workshop of the 2019/2020 school year with Apeksha Kumavat, Co-Founder of Gatik, a company making self-driving vehicles for urban logistics. Apeksha talked about her love for gaming, self-driving cars, and the role of confidence in her success. She then led an activity where girls built line follower robots which followed a black path.
According to Apeksha, Gatik tries to make self-driving cars behave the way a human-driven car would. They replace the interactions a human would have with a car with computer interactions.
Here are the 3 takeaways from Apeksha’s talk:
“If you really love something, follow that passionately.”
Apeksha started programming games when she was 13. She combined her love for sketching and playing games to start designing games.
“Have the confidence and the understanding that if you put in the hard work and everything you have, you will achieve your goal.”
“Even if you have the confidence to do something you love, there are still hurdles to climb up; nothing is easy if you do not put your 101%.”
